Elle’s Studio – February 2019

The first month of 2019 done & documented!

It’s February 10th which means that the new kit from Elle’s Studio is available. Here is a look at my first layout that I created using this month’s kit. It’s my monthly 9×12 double pocket page layout summarizing our family stories from January 2019. Activities, artwork and all the members of my family are included on this page.

When I opened the kit, I knew that I wanted to design a page around the colourful 3×4 “Wonderful” card. I used the die cuts as well as the acrylic stars to continue the colour scheme around the layout.

I also used that monthly wood veneer to make a title card. I love that it boldly stands out and plan on using Elle’s veneers for each of my pages moving forward.

Hooray for a cluster of embellishments!

For my second layout this month, I decided to highlight the routine of our weekends. When I am documenting our family lives in a monthly format, m I know that I can’t record every story. I noticed that we had a routine established last month and I decided to document that in this 9 x 12 double pocket page. Also kinda cool? I used watercolour and the Large Jane Alphabet stamp to create that fun “Weekend” Title!!

When I saw the peachy coral card from this month’s kit, along with the grey heart and gold acrylic stars, I knew that I want to make a layout using a peach, black, white, grey and gold colour scheme.

So I choose my photos and I switched them to black and white. I used the peach and grey 3×4 cards to document the smaller stories of the weekends. I event listed all the meals that Aaron has learned how to cook over this past month using that cute knife, spoon and fork journaling card. I also used the Oh Happy Day Stamp on the 3×4 peach card to write a love letter to the weekends. I finished off the layout by creating a visual triangle with the gold acrylic stars.

Thanks for looking!!

[…] In January I included a 6×8 active photo of kiddos; this month, I included a 6×8 posed picture of Rowan and Sam. As always, I used the yearly wood veneer to highlight the month and used red, blue, purple star die cuts from the monthly kit to tie into the colour scheme. I love Valentine’s Day and included lots of pictures with red in my photos. […]
